Writers Norman and Hedda Rosten were Monroe's friends and neighbors, and Hedda served as her maid of honor for her wedding to Arthur Miller. A nicely signed check from a difficult period in Monroe's life, as she spent the end of 1961 recuperating from a variety of medical and emotional issues.
