Unusual vintage matte-finish 11 x 15.5 photo of the French marshal and the steel magnate posing together, signed in fountain pen, "F. Foch" and "C. M. Schwab." Framed to an overall size of 12.75 x 17.25. In fine condition, with some minor damage to the frame.
During the first years of World War I, Schwab's Bethlehem Steel had a virtual monopoly in contracts to supply the Allies with certain kinds of munitions. During this period, Schwab made many visits to Europe in connection with the manufacture and supply of munitions to the Allied governments.
