Fantastic AQS on a light blue 6 x 4 album page featuring a portrait of the mountaineer, borrowing from George Mallory's famous retort to the inquiry, 'Why did you want to climb Mount Everest?'—'Because it's there.' Hillary, having completed the task, writes: "'Because it was there!' Ed Hillary, Mt. Everest, May 29th 1953." In very fine condition. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
