Hardcover, 5.25 x 7.5, 220 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in fountain pen, "To my friend Frederick Starr, from whom I have learned a great deal, and and in regard for his attainments as a scholar and his friendship from Clarence Darrow, March 23rd 1920." Autographic condition: fine. Book condition: VG/None, with a slightly cocked spine, spot of paper loss to rear hinge, and light edgewear.
Frederick Starr (1858-1933) was a professor at the University of Chicago and a frequent debater of Darrow, engaging in issues such as 'Is Life Worth Living?' and 'Is The Human Race Getting Anywhere?'
