Italian composer (1863–1945) whose 1890 masterpiece ‘Cavalleria rusticana’ takes a place among the most beloved staples of the operatic repertoire. Outstanding vintage matte-finish 9 x 6.5 photo of the composer at his piano, affixed to its original 9.25 x 8 studio mount, signed and inscribed on the mount in fountain pen, "All' egregio Sig. Direktor Karl von Bukovics, per ricordo di Vienna, P. Mascagni, 9.VIII.1924.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 13 x 12. In very good to fine condition, with some silvering to dark areas of the image, and the photo peeling slightly from its mount.
