Scarce vintage fountain pen signature, "Gazi M. Kemal,” on an off-white 5.25 x 3.75 card. In very fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope (with its stamp clipped out) and transmittal letter from his secretary Hasan Riza, dated August 7, 1934.
Ataturk was given the title of "Gazi" by the Grand National Assembly following his defeat of the Greeks in the Greco-Turkish War, which secured the independence of Turkey. He soon became the nation's first president and embarked on a series of tremendously influential reforms, producing the modern nation that continues to exist today.
