Description

ALS from John Lennon’s aunt, Mimi Smith, one page, 5.25 x 7, postmarked November 21, 1965. Handwritten letter sent to Beatles fan Carolyn Woodman, in full: “Thanks for your letter + good wishes. The baby in the oxi advert is not Julian. John would never allow that. I suggest you write to Freda Kelly asking about John’s present. I don’t think he has received it, + tell her you have asked me about it + I have no knowledge of it, I will ask John when he comes down on Friday but I’m fairly sure he hasn’t had it. If I knew what it was I could ask myself. However tell her + describe what you sent. It is always safer to send direct to me. Good luck for your exams.” Smith adds her home address at the top of front side: “126 Panorama Road, Sandbanks, Poole, Dorset.” In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and the original hand-addressed mailing envelope.
