American composer, arranger, and pianist (1892-1972) best known for his symphonic jazz works. AMQS by Ferde Grofe on a peach-colored 6 x 4.5 album page, which is signed in black ink by Grofe, who adds several bars of music from his piece “On the Trail,” which was the third movement from his beloved “Grand Canyon Suite.” Collector’s notation dates the signature to May 17, 1933. In very fine condition, with a faint central vertical fold.
