Vintage matte-finish 7.75 x 9.75 photo of James Cagney on the deck of a ship with film producer A. C. Lyles and the latter’s wife, Martha French, signed and inscribed in fountain pen to Lyles, “For A. C., Never saw a man work so hard and worry so little. Stomach pains? Never! Best, Jim.” In fine condition. Lyle’s first role as full-time producer was on Cagney's sole directorial effort, the 1957 Short Cut to Hell (a remake of the 1941 noir classic This Gun for Hire).
