Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 12.75 x 8, March 21, 1820. President Monroe grants “Daniel Harmon assignee of Jacob Mesenhemer” a parcel of land containing 160 acres directed to be sold “at Jeffersonville by the Act of Congress, entitled 'An Act providing for the sale of the Lands of the United States, in the Territory north west of Ohio, and above the mouth of Kentucky River.'" Signed at the conclusion by James Monroe and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Josiah Meigs. The lower left retains the original embossed General Land Office seal. Mounted, cloth-matted and framed with an engraved portrait of James Monroe to an overall size of 30 x 18. In very good condition, with creasing, wrinkling, soiling, and minor damage to the seal.
