Color limited edition 21.5 x 17 'Gold Plate Edition' lithograph entitled 'July Fourth in Duckburg,' numbered 73/100, signed in the lower border in pencil by Carl Barks. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 28.75 x 24.5. In very fine condition.
Created in tribute to the Nation's Bicentennial, this hugely festive scene features Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge, the Junior Woodchucks, and the entire panoply of Barks' Disney characters during a celebratory downtown parade. In appreciation of his supporters, Barks also painted into the scene numerous real-world people who were active in the Barks market at the time: Don Ault, Mike Barrier, E. Barbara Boatner, Glenn Bray, Russ and Vance Cochran, Tony Dispoto, Bruce Hamilton, Jerry Osborne, Bob Overstreet, Don Phelps, Bud Plant, and Burrel Rowe.
