American statesman and signer of the Constitution (1727–1819) who played a key role in the debates at the Constitutional Convention. ADS, signed “Wm. Sam'l Johnson,” one page, 7.25 x 4, no date. Handwritten document, in part: "If you find any difficulty in Messr. Boland's affairs I beg you will be so good as to…have the Money secured in the best manner possible." In good to very good condition, with scattered staining, small areas of paper loss, and nearly complete separation along the intersecting folds.
