Large official color semi-glossy 13.5 x 10.25 NASA photo of a Space Shuttle Enterprise orbiter docked and ready for launch at Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, affixed to its original 20 x 16 presentation mount, which is signed by over 100 NASA astronauts and mission control personnel, a huge group highlighted by John Young, Alan Bean, Gene Kranz, Bob Crippen, Sy Liebergot, Joe Engle, Vance Brand, Brewster Shaw, Mike Smith, Tony England, Mike Mullane, Mike Coats, Dan Brandenstein, Loren Shriver, Dick Truly, Dick Scobee, Don Puddy, Don Lind, Don Peterson, Norm Thagard, Hoot Gibson, Dick Covey, John Blaha, Joe Allen, Owen Garriott, and many more. The upper border bears an affixed presentation label that reads: “To Mel Brooks, from your friends at the Johnson Space Center.” In very good to fine condition, with several heavy vertical creases to the image, and toning from prior display. Melvin F. Brooks was a longtime NASA employee who served as the Agena Flight Controller during Project Gemini and Assistant Chief of Experiments Systems/Payload Operations for the Apollo Program, and was praised for his role in the Spacecraft Analysis (SPAN) Room during Apollo 13.
