Hackman, signed at the conclusion in ink by William McKinley as secretary and W. W. Clark as the organization's president. In fine condition. Organized in 1869, the Canton Building Association was the first savings and loan association established in Canton, Ohio; William McKinley, then just 26 years old, was chosen unanimously as its first secretary.
