Union general (1824–1897) who commanded the Cavalry Corps of the Army of the Potomac during the Gettysburg campaign. Scarce 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite portrait of Alfred Pleasanton by Mathew Brady, boldly signed in ink, "A: Pleasanton, Maj: Genl." Mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 6.5 x 8.5. In fine condition.
