Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 12.5 x 8, May 5, 1815. President Madison issues to “John C. Boardman of New York,” a tract of land in the “North East quarter of Section Twenty-seven of Township Five in Range Nine (lying between the Miami Rivers) of the Lands directed to be sold at Cincinnati by the act of Congress, entitled 'An act providing for the sale of the lands of the United States in the Territory north west of the Ohio, and above the mouth of Kentucky river.'" Signed neatly at the conclusion by President Madison, and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Josiah Meigs. The lower left retains the original embossed off-white seal. Matted and framed to an overall size of 18.5 x 14. In very good to fine condition, with toning, soiling, and a few small stains.
