Beautifully preserved presidential document boasting a crisp signature of Abraham Lincoln

Civil War-dated DS as president, one page, 15.75 x 19.75, March 4, 1864. President Lincoln appoints E. T. Wells as “Assistant Adjutant General of Volunteers with the rank of Captain in the service of the United States.” Signed beautifully in crisp black ink by Abraham Lincoln, and countersigned by Secretary of War Edwin M. Stanton. The bright green War Office seal remains affixed to the upper left section. In fine condition, with intersecting fold as issued. An immaculate, remarkably preserved presidential document highlighted by a marvelously bold signature of Abraham Lincoln.
