Description

(Warner Brothers Studios, 1990s) Massive original drawing by Virgil Ross of 18 classic Looney Tunes characters in a scene replicating the limited edition animated cel ‘Looney Bin.’ Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on four sheets of untrimmed 17 x 13.5 animation paper, which have been taped neatly together to an overall size of 34 x 24.75, and form a terrific cut section view of a house containing nearly 20 Looney Tunes characters, such as Michigan J. Frog, Speedy Gonzales, Elmer Fudd, Wile E. Coyote, Porky Pig, Henery Hawk, Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, Road Runner, Tweety Bird, Taz, Granny, Sylvester and son, Marvin the Martian, Gossamer, and Bugs Bunny. The beautifully drawn background in blue pencil depicts the interior of six rooms and the attic, as well as the roof and a left-side landscape. The lower right sheet is signed in pencil by Ross, and the lower left sheet bears red pencil artist directions. Rolled and in fine condition, with some wear to edges and pin holes to borders. This huge, one-of-a-kind drawing was done to be sold in the Warner Bros. Studio stores in the 1990s.
