ALS in German, one page, 5.75 x 4, personal letterhead, November 13, 1945. Handwritten letter to an American officer who was part of the occupying forces in his Austrian hometown, Bad Ischl, pertaining to his housekeeper's request for permission to visit her family in Hechingen-Hohenzollern. Includes the original transmittal envelope (addressed in Lehar's own hand), a photograph, a program sheet for the 1945 Bad Ischl Christmas festival, an invitation to the festival distributed to United States military personnel, and a typed transcript of a speech given on that occasion. In fine condition.
