Description

Early DS, signed “Cassius Clay,” seven pages, 8.5 x 11, April 25, 1963. Television Motion Picture Artists’ Manager Contract between “Cassius Marcellus Clay” and the William Morris Agency, with the former agreeing to hire the latter as “his agent for television motion pictures” for a period of one year. Signed at the conclusion in bold blue ballpoint by Muhammad Ali with his given name. In fine condition.

By this point, Cassius Clay was an undefeated 21-year-old heavyweight boxer with an Olympic gold medal under his belt. He’d win the WBA, WBC, NYSAC, and The Ring heavyweight titles less than a year later when he stopped then-champ Sonny Liston after six rounds on February 25, 1964. Less than two weeks later, Cassius Clay converted to Islam and changed his name to Muhammad Ali.
