From the personal collection of legendary rock photographer Barry Feinstein—a massive original 31.5 x 40 photographic print of Donovan seated in a chair, hands wrapped around the head of a rustic walking cane, taken by Barry Feinstein in New York City in 1964 and printed by Barry himself. Matted to an overall size of 40 x 50. In fine condition.
Feinstein photographed Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan during the 1960s, capturing the vibrant spirit of the era and Donovan's unique blend of folk and psychedelic music. Feinstein took the portrait used on Donovan's Sunshine Superman album cover in 1966; Donovan later contributed the preface to the 2020 Feinstein photobook George Harrison: Be Here Now. Their collaboration helped visually define the cultural atmosphere surrounding Donovan's rise to fame.
From the personal collection of Barry Feinstein and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from his estate. Barry Feinstein passed away in 2011, and since then his estate has offered posthumous estate-stamped limited edition photographs from his archives; this example, printed during his lifetime and deriving from his personal collection, is superior to those gallery offerings.
