World War II-dated TLS signed “Winston S. Churchill,” one page, 7 x 8.75, Prime Minister letterhead, June 29, 1940. Letter to an unidentified gentleman, in full: “Will you please pay unto Mrs. Churchill’s No. 3 Account at the Westminster Bank Ltd., 137 Victoria Street, S.W.1. The sum of £350 monthly, commencing July 1. This cancels the previous standing order of £250 per month.” The lower portion bears an affixed postage stamp. Matted and framed with two portraits of Churchill and his wife, Clementine, to an overall size of 22 x 13.25. In fine condition, with a diagonal crease in the lower right quadrant.
