Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 13.25 x 9.25, July 9, 1803. King George III appoints Richard Y. Vance "to be Surgeon to Our Fifty seventh or the the West Middlesex Regiment of Foot commanded by Our Trusty and Welbeloved General John Campbell.” Boldly signed at the head by King George III. The paper seals affixed below his signature remain intact. In very good to fine condition, with some light staining and overall soiling.
