Royal Christmas card from 1987 embossed on the front with the Prince of Wales’s feathers and Order of the Garter motto and the Spencer family arms, measuring 16 x 6 open, featuring an affixed color photo of the royal couple posing with their young sons William and Harry, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "Mr. &. Mrs. Maxwell, from Diana" and "and Charles." In fine to very fine condition, with a very small brush to the inscription. Accompanied by an unsigned Christmas card from 1991.
Consignor notes that these originate from the collection of Alan Maxwell, a photographic adviser who worked at Wallace Heaton Ltd, the official photographic suppliers to the royal family. Maxwell helped the royals to pick which images to use on their Christmas cards, in addition to providing assistance in printing, trimming, and framing.
