Vintage color matte-finish 8 x 9.75 full-length photo of moonwalker Gene Cernan and legendary golfer Jimmy Demaret pretending to drink from a golf club-shaped bottle of liquor, affixed to its original 11 x 14 cardstock mount, which is signed and inscribed in the lower border in ballpoint, "Dear Gene: I said, keep your head down and follow through. Not up and swallow through. Your pro, Jimmy Demaret.” In fine condition, with light soiling and toning to the mat.
Throughout his professional career, Cernan developed a high number of close relationships with notable political leaders, fellow astronauts and cosmonauts, business leaders, and celebrities. Cernan took part in a number of publicity and diplomatic initiatives, particularly with former Vice President Spiro Agnew, as well as charity work alongside such notable figures as Bob Hope and Jimmy Demaret. Cernan, in addition to fellow moonwalkers Alan Shepard and Charles Duke, was a member of Demaret’s Champions Golf Club.
