Revolutionary War-dated ADS, signed “O. Ellsworth,” one page, 8.25 x 3.5, December 30, 1776. Desirable Connecticut Pay-Table document penned in Ellsworth's hand, issued to Treasurer John Lawrence, in full: "Please to pay James Morris Two pounds one shilling for his Gun turn'd into Continental Store before Quebeck." In fine condition. Connecticut troops, under the command of Benedict Arnold, had been defeated by British forces in the Battle of Quebec a year earlier.
