Handwritten letter to "Dear old Ray," famed Wizard of Oz actor Ray Bolger, in full: “This to thank you for your help on the show — for your companionship afterwards, and for a telegram which brought me laughter. Love and kisses.” In very fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope hand-addressed by Welles.
Welles is thanking Bolger for taking part in an episode of The Fifth War Loan Drive, which aired on CBS from Soldier Field, Chicago, on June 19, 1944, and featured other celebrities like Lana Turner, Jack Benny, Paul Lukas, and Henry Morgenthau, Jr.
