Bob Dole’s Republican National Committee mailer for the 1972 presidential campaign of incumbent Richard Nixon, measuring 33 x 14 unfolded, which contains a full map of the United States that features various gold circles indicating the numerous campaign stops made by Kansas Senator Dole in support of President Nixon and other Republican candidates. The map is signed in ballpoint and felt tip by 21 Republican state governors, a group highlighted by California’s Ronald Reagan: “Thanks for everything, Ronald Reagan.” Other signers include Arizona’s Jack Williams, New Jersey’s Bill Cahill, Tennessee’s Winfield Dunn, Colorado’s John A. Love, Iowa’s Robert Ray, Illinois’ Richard B. Ogilvie, and more, with several adding inscriptions to either “Bob” or “Bob Dole.” The mailer, which is entitled “503,800 miles for President Nixon,” contains a list of the major speeches made by Dole from January 1971 and November 1972. In very good to fine condition, with some rust stains along the folds.
