Description

Rare Confederate sheet music for "Star of Liberty," dedicated to Governor Isham G. Harris of Tennessee, 10 x 13, five pages, published in 1861 by Jas. A. McClure of Nashville & Memphis. Featuring words by Randel Weber and music by Dr. O. Becker, the patriotic Southern war anthem concludes: "There's a sound a low sound that is flying, / It's echoes do spread o'er the earth, / 'Tis the wail of the enemy's dying, / The song of our liberty's birth. / Once more now I see, / That Star, Liberty, / And hark we are free, we are free." In very good to fine condition, with light foxing and staining throughout.
