Belgian violin virtuoso, composer, and conductor (1858-1931) known as 'The King of the Violin.' ALS in pencil, in French, signed “E. Ysaye,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.25 x 6.75, no date. Handwritten letter to "Huberty," in part (translated): "This young man was accepted in our piano classes at the Conservatory. He has finished his harmony studies and would like to be admitted to your classes. To see if he is good enough, examine him, and decide his fate." In fine condition, with a short tear to the right edge of the last page.
