Description

Unsigned handwritten notes in pencil by President John F. Kennedy, one page, 5 x 8 White House letterhead, no date but circa May 1963. Kennedy jots down a few political notes: "Finley / Fine Art Committee / Willis Robertson." In fine condition.

In these brief but interesting notes, President Kennedy makes reference to the Fine Arts Committee for the White House, established in 1961 by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy for the preservation and curation of the Executive Mansion as a historic property. He also refers to Senator A. Willis Robertson of Virginia, who, though a Democrat, operated as a conservative opponent of the Kennedy administration.
