Vintage glossy 7.25 x 9.25 portrait photo of the handsome leading man, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Doris Davenport, wishing you lots of success, sincerely, Gary Cooper, 1940.” The reverse bears a Coburn photography stamp. In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges and a few small creases. Doris Davenport (1917–1980) was an American actress in movies during the 1930s and early 1940s who starred opposite Gary Cooper and Walter Brennan in the 1940 film The Westerner. Davenport was also a finalist for the role of Scarlett O'Hara for Gone with the Wind.
