Agreement between George Cukor and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer authorizing the director to pursue "an offer of an outside engagement with Warner Brothers Pictures, Inc., namely the photoplay now entitled 'My Fair Lady,' which offer if accepted by you would require the rendition of your services for approximately one year commencing January 1, 1963." Neatly signed at the conclusion in fountain pen by George Cukor, and countersigned by an MGM secretary. In fine condition.
A musical comedy-drama based on George Bernard Shaw's stage play Pygmalion, My Fair Lady stars Audrey Hepburn as Eliza Doolittle and Rex Harrison as Professor Henry Higgins. A critical and commercial success, it became the second highest-grossing film of 1964 and won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor—it was Cukor's first Oscar, after four previous nominations.
