UK vinyl pressing of the 1969 Led Zeppelin album Led Zeppelin II, signed on the right side of the inner gatefold in green felt tip by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and in blue ballpoint by John Bonham and John Paul Jones. The consignor notes that the autographs were obtained at Usher Hall in Edinburgh, Scotland, on February 17, 1970. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling and staining only to the outside covers; the interior is clean and fine. The record is included. Very few fully signed gatefold examples of this album are known to exist.
Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a detailed letter of provenance from the original recipient: “I was Vice president of the Heriot–Watt University Student Union for most of 1969-1970. My portfolio was essentially the running of the Student Union facilities in Chambers Street…My remit also included the overall responsibility of organising entertainment for the Students Union, i.e. Music events…I contacted a London-based agency with a view to booking a headline act and was offered Pink Floyd who were organising a UK tour. I accepted and agreed dates with the Usher Hall. About a week after initialing contracts Pink Floyd cancelled the date as they had accepted an offer to play in the Albert Hall in London. As a replacement, I was offered Led Zeppelin…The concert was a sell out with almost 3000 tickets sold. The concert was brilliant. I had a front row seat but spent a lot of the time preventing students from getting onto the stage. After the concert I went backstage armed with my two LPs which they all signed.”
