Distinguished 4 x 6.5 cabinet photo of Roosevelt in 1898, by the Pach Brothers, signed and inscribed in the lower border as president in bold ink, "To Miss Jean Walker Simpson, with best wishes from Theodore Roosevelt, Nov. 15th, 1904." In fine condition, with a few small areas of surface loss to the mount. Roosevelt had come to power in 1901 after the assassination of William McKinley, and went on to win a full term in the 1904 election—a landslide victory by any measure. The election was held on November 8, exactly one week before he signed this photo. A great photo of one of America's most beloved presidents.
