Handwritten letter to Robert Mackintosh, in part: “I am so extremely sorry to hear how the grouse having been dying at Moy, you must indeed be disappointed, when everything promised, a short time ago, to be such an excellent season. I of course quite understand that it would have been impossible for you to have had your shoot on the 24th when you so kindly asked me, I only regret that my engagements will prevent me coming to Moy on Sept. 7th. I trust we may have better luck next year.” In very good to fine condition, with some irregular staining, heaviest to the central horizontal fold.
