Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, as well as Rogers's telegram to Hoover, suggesting strong bipartisan support of his campaign: "Permit me to congratulate you on your nomination to still further serve the United States and the people of the world…millions of Democratic men and women will like myself gladly vote for you in preference to anything that comes out of Houston."
