Nikki Sixx’s personally-owned and stage-used Gibson Blackbird bass guitar that he played throughout Motley Crue’s 2005 Red, White & Crue…Better Live Than Dead Tour and the band’s Carnival of Sins Tour in 2005 and 2006. The black-bodied bass guitar, which is signed on the body in white paint pen by Sixx, features a slim profile mahogany neck, inlaid iron cross fret markers, a ‘Thunderbird’ logo with an iron cross symbol on the clear pickguard, two ‘Deep Sixx’ humbucker pickups, an ‘Opti-Grab’ handle, and an on-off switch instead of traditional volume-tone controls. Included with the bass is its original Gibson Blackbird carrying case, two photos of Sixx playing the bass on stage, a photo of Sixx at the time of the signing, and a signed letter of authenticity from Sixx, dated July 8, 2014, which reads: “This is a Gibson Blackbird bass owned and played by myself, Motley Crue bass player Nikki Sixx. This bass was played by me extensively on the 2005 Motley Crue Red, White, and Crue Tour and the 2005-06 Carnival of Sins tour. I signed it and I hope that you enjoy owning it as much as I enjoyed playing it.” In fine condition, with some light wear from use. Accompanied by a certificate and a letter of authenticity from JSA for the bass and the letter.
