DS, signed “Leland Stanford,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 8.5 x 14, March 1, 1881. Central Pacific Railroad Co. deed for the sale of a plot of land to A. Montgomery "in the County of Tehama and State of California." Signed at the conclusion by Stanford as president of Central Pacific. Impressively cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 36 x 24, with a window in the backing for viewing the reverse. In fine condition.
