Description

Influential black writer, educator, and civil rights activist (1868-1963) best known as the co-founder of the NAACP and author of The Souls of Black Folk. TLS, one page, 6.5 x 10.25, personal letterhead, January 23, 1936. Letter to N. O. Calloway at the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute, in full: "We received the letter concerning the Encyclopedia and were glad to have it." Handsomely cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and biographical caption to an overall size of 23.75 x 24. In fine condition.
