Partly-printed DS, signed “John Jacob Astor,” one page, 7.75 x 12.5, January 5, 1832. Document by which Astor certifies "that a certain Mortgage, bearing date the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and thirty, made and executed by Frederick R. Lee, of the city of New York, to secure to me the payment of twelve hundred dollars upon certain premises therein mentioned…is paid." Neatly signed at the conclusion in ink by Astor, and certified below by the Court of Deeds. Impressively suede-matted and framed with an engraved portrait and plaque to an overall size of 24 x 22.75. In fine condition.
