One of America's premier railroad builders (1812–1892) who was involved with the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad and First Transcontinental Railroad. Partly-printed DS, one page, 15.25 x 7.5, January 17, 1879. Stock certificate issued to Hann Brothers for 100 shares in the Chicago and Canada Southern Railway Company, signed at the conclusion in ink by Sidney Dillon as president. The original receipt remains affixed to the left side. Impressively cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 33.5 x 22.5. In fine condition.
