Democratic politician from Boston, Massachusetts (1874–1958) who served four terms as Mayor of Boston. He also served a single term as Governor of Massachusetts, which was characterized by one biographer as 'a disaster mitigated only by moments of farce' for its free spending and corruption. Partly-printed DS, signed “James M. Curley,” one page, 10.5 x 6.75, February 8, 1932. Stock certificate for 100 shares in the Irving Trust Company, endorsed on the reverse by Curley. Nicely cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 26 x 19.25, with a window in the backing for viewing the reverse. In fine condition.
