American railroad executive (1848–1909) who controlled several railways in his lifetime, influencing much of the US economy. Partly-printed DS, signed “E. H. Harriman,” one page, 11 x 7.25, January 13, 1901. Stock certificate issued to Harriman for 100 shares of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, endorsed on the reverse by Harriman. The certificate features a handsome vignette of a steam engine. Nicely cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and plaque to an overall size of 26.75 x 20, with a window in the backing for viewing the reverse. In fine condition.
