Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Virginia (1726–1791) who was the father of President William Henry Harrison and great-grandfather of President Benjamin Harrison. Partly-printed DS, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 8 x 12.75, June 1, 1782. Desirable land grant issued to John Cowan for "a certain tract or parcel of land containing one thousand acres…lying and being in the county of Kentucky." Neatly signed at the conclusion in ink by Governor Benjamin Harrison of Virginia. Handsomely cloth-matted and framed with a portrait and biographical caption to an overall size of 26 x 21.75. In fine condition.
