Description

Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731-1796) and seventh president of the Continental Congress. Partly-printed DS, signed “Sam'l Huntington Governor,” one page, 8 x 6.75, January 24, 1795. As governor of Connecticut, Huntington orders the Sheriff of Windham County to summon “John Legard late of said town of Windham now of Montreal in the Province of Canady, to appear before the City Court of Pleas.” Signed at the conclusion by Huntington. In very good to fine condition, with light mottled staining, and a short tear to the bottom edge.
