Presented to Argentine diplomat and Kennedy family friend Miguel Angel Carcano

Jacqueline Kennedy’s custom-bound presentation copy of To Turn the Tide by John F. Kennedy, which she signed and inscribed on an opening page in black ink to an Argentine diplomat, “For Miguel Angel Carcano and Stella Carcano, in memory of President Kennedy and with my deepest appreciation for welcoming his children and me to Cordoba—Jack loved it here so much, Jacqueline Kennedy, Cordoba, Easter 1966.” Kennedy had the hardcover book specially bound in blue goatskin with a gilt-stamped presidential seal on the front board. First edition. NY: Harper & Brothers, 1962, 6 x 8.75, 235 pages. Includes a marble slipcase. Autographic condition: fine, with a few tiny stains. Book condition: VG+/None in a VG- case, with scuffing and wear to the slipcase. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.

To Turn the Tide collects several of JFK’s greatest speeches and addresses, ranging from his famous commitment to 'landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth' to his oft-quoted inaugural that contains the memorable lines: 'Let the word go forth…the torch has been passed,' along with the famed clarion call to higher purpose and patriotism, 'And so, my fellow Americans, Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.'
