Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Delaware (1734-1817) who later served as president of the Continental Congress, Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, and Governor of Pennsylvania. Vellum manuscript DS, signed “Tho. M:Kean,” one page, 21 x 11.75, October 10, 1806. As governor of Pennsylvania, McKean grants to Robert Blackwell "a certain tract of land, called 'Deddington,' situate in the late Purchase now Potter County." Neatly signed in the upper left in ink by Governor McKean. The seal affixed to the upper left remains intact. Also endorsed on the reverse by Timothy Matlack, the engrosser of the Declaration of Independence. In fine condition.
