Bearder, publisher of the Lake Geneva Regional News, a Wisconsin newspaper celebrating its 75th anniversary. In part: “May I extend my hearty congratulation to you and your associates, and to your readers and fellow citizens who have made this unique and happy occasion possible The survival of the REGIONAL NEWS for three quarters of a century is a tribute to the service it has rendered to its community over the years.” In fine condition, with some very faint edge toning.
Adelbert Marcell 'Al' Bearder (1904-1980) was born in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and worked in advertising at the Waukesha Freeman before buying the nearby Lake Geneva Regional News in 1940. Three generations of the Bearder family ran the newspaper from 1940 to 1999. It celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2022 and is still in publication.
