Description

Rare hand-addressed mailing envelope by Sigmund Freud, 5.75 x 5, addressed by Freud to "Dr. A. A. Brill, 1 West 70th Street, New York, U. S. A." The flap is imprinted with Freud's address in Vienna: "Prof. Dr. Freud, Wien, IX., Bergasse 19." In very good condition, with opening-related tears and paper loss. The recipient, Abraham A. Brill (1874–1948) was the first psychoanalyst to practice in the United States and the first translator of Sigmund Freud into English.
